About HereSay LIVE

Founded August 2025

What HereSay is

HereSay LIVE is a browser-based, peer-to-peer voice chat platform that connects strangers for spontaneous, anonymous conversations. There's no app to download, no account to create, and no video. You hit Connect and within seconds you're talking with another real person somewhere in the world.

Why we built it

Most people have more contacts than ever and feel less connected. Researchers like the University of Chicago's Nicholas Epley have spent years showing that brief, voice-based conversations with strangers consistently produce more warmth and connection than people predict — yet the platforms most of us use have moved away from voice. Texting trades emotional resonance for efficiency. Video adds performance anxiety. Voice sits in the middle: rich enough to carry tone and feeling, simple enough to be honest.

We built HereSay to make that kind of contact frictionless: open the page, hit Connect, hear another human within seconds. No app, no profile, no swipe. Our mission is to connect people through natural conversation, and to use AI thoughtfully to help them communicate more deeply.

How HereSay works

Who's behind this

HereSay is written and edited under the pen name Iris Crier. We use a pen name to keep the focus on the work, not the person. Iris writes about online connection, loneliness, and the strange magic of hearing a stranger's voice for the first time. See the blog for our ongoing writing on these themes.

How we make money

HereSay is free to use. We earn revenue from optional Premium subscriptions that unlock private calls, priority matching, and matching filters. We do not sell user data. We do not run third-party ads. We do not retain call content after a session ends.

Daily voice chat meetup, 10pm ET

HereSay organizes a daily community meetup hosted on Meetup.com — the Voice Chat Social group. Members gather at 10pm ET (with a 7pm ET early-bird slot some weeks) to drop into anonymous 1-on-1 voice conversations on HereSay. No swiping, no profiles, no small talk.

The Meetup group has 1,849 members and a 3.7/5 rating from 140 ratings.

Common questions

Is HereSay free?

Yes. The free tier — anonymous voice chat with random strangers — is free forever. Premium is optional and adds private calls plus matching filters.

Do I need an account?

No. You can use HereSay without creating an account. Just open heresay.live and hit Connect — no profile, no username, no real name.

Is HereSay anonymous?

Yes. There's no profile, no photos, no real name required. We retain only the minimum metadata needed to run the platform — no call recordings, no transcripts. See our privacy policy for what we do log.

Is HereSay safe?

HereSay is 18+ only and has a clear community-rules page. Calls are between two people; you can hang up at any time. Free calls are public on the Live tab so anyone in the community can listen in — which acts as a soft moderation layer. Premium calls are private. See our community rules.

Is HereSay an Omegle alternative?

For the "talk to a stranger" use case, yes — HereSay is a free Omegle alternative built specifically for voice. We're voice-only (no video, no text), 18+ only, and browser-native with no signup. The Live tab gives a community-moderation surface Omegle never had. See more in our voice chat alternatives guide.

Is HereSay a Discord alternative?

For meeting new people via voice, yes. Discord is built for persistent communities of people you already know — servers, channels, friends. HereSay is a Discord alternative for the different job of meeting strangers one at a time, with no signup or server-join commitment. See our blog for specific Discord alternatives by use case.

What countries / languages?

HereSay is global — anyone with a browser can use it. The interface is currently English; conversations themselves can be in any language. Matchmaking is random by default; Premium users can filter for shared interests or location.

Does HereSay work on mobile?

Yes. HereSay runs in any modern browser on iOS, Android, desktop, or laptop. No app download required.
